His first album, I’m Dreaming, which was released in 2021, gained critical acclaim and commercial success. The album had four chart-toppers on the World Indie Music Charts and the Official European Independent Music Chart, including “I Called You Rose,” which climbed all the way to No. 3.
In February 2022, Chris recorded his second LP, Fly Away in Nashville, working with legendary producer Stephen Wrench, as well as some of the finest session musicians in Music City. The album had #1 hits on the Worldwide and European Indie Charts, including songs“Hey Siri,” “Fly Away”, “I Just Knew”, “Hold on” and “Walk Between the White Lines.”
In September of 2022, Chris released When Dreams End to critical acclaim using the same producer and Nashville session musicians. The music is being picked up by major stations around the globe and there are several tracks expected to follow Fly Away’s success by climbing the charts.
In October 2022, Chris returned to Nashville to cut an EP entitled “The Sinner and The Saint” and “Harbinger”, both set for release this fall.
In talking about his prolific song writing, St John said “There is an urgency to what I am doing. The melodies and lyrics are coming to me fast and furious. I’m listening to what I’m hearing and feeling, and I’m expressing it through my songs. Having started writing songs at 14, I know that the “window” that these songs seem to come through isn’t always open, so I intend to keep writing and creating while I have so much to say. I’m having the time of my life.”
The diversity of the songs makes it very hard to fit Chris’ music into any one genre. His voice is velvety and clear on the album’s ballads, and heartfelt and rocking on the up-tempo songs. His tenor voice has remarkable range and clarity, and his different vocal stylings on each track make it hard to believe it’s the same singer throughout the album.
