“My hope is that, throughout the whole song, you can feel the memory before you in real time,” states Gagnon on the imminent release. “I wrote it while reflecting on some fond memories that were starting to feel too distant. I wanted to try to express that pining in a song, and ‘Stay’ is the product of that.”

Produced by Spencer Bradham and mixed by Ryan Hewitt (Noah Kahan), “Stay” is an auditory diary entry. As the story progresses, so does its instrumentals, crescendoing as listeners reach the chorus. “Stay” follows the release of “Reason To Live” – a message surrounding the struggles of mental health, written as a letter to Gagnon’s friend who passed by suicide.

“Stay” will be available on all streaming platforms November 1. For more on Malachi Gagnon, follow him on social media @malachigagnonmusic.
About Malachi Gagnon
Built on hope, heartbreak and his hometown, rising folk artist Malachi Gagnon went from family talent shows during COVID to viral sensation when he was only fourteen. The small town New Hampshire native found himself skyrocketing to new heights after posting videos of covers and original pop-country tracks on social media. Gagnon’s opportunistic mindset has transformed vitality into a successful music career, and now the seventeen-year-old holds over 5 Million streams on Spotify alone.

“I think being able to make music and do what I love is just an amazing opportunity,” Malachi says. “Music and writing are just who I am.”

Over the past two years, Gagnon has found himself in rooms with some of Nashville’s best songwriters, such as David Ray Stevens (Jelly Roll, Lainey Wilson). Gagnon’s powerful introspective lyrics reminiscent of classic country storytelling paired with his “dynamic voice” (Hollywood Life) create a version of singer-songwriter that transcends genre. Influenced by the likes of Zach Bryan and Noah Kahan, Malachi Gagnon is determined to make music that appeals to folk fans and beyond.
