Nashville-based recording artist Kaitlyn Croker, and, specifically, a new song just released that she is a big part of.

“I Stand” is a single released Friday by Brooks Herring. Kaitlyn co-wrote the song with him, and she is featured (vocally) on the track.

It’s a logical pairing. Kaitlyn – as told in her song “You’re the Hero,” released last year in conjunction with Veterans Day – is the daughter of a veteran. (Her father was a fighter pilot for 26 years [an F-16 pilot in the Air Force and F-18 in the Navy]. He is still involved with defense contract work, including at the Pentagon.) This past June she did in-room performances for patients at the VA Medical Center in Nashville. Brooks Herring is a Navy veteran and, off the stage, devotes much of his time to advocating for veterans recovering from combat trauma.

“I Stand” is a song written two days before the 4th of July. Croker and Herring were feeling patriotic, and they wanted to write about something they believe in – standing for the national anthem, showing pride for their country.

The new release is available on Apple Music, Spotify, Amazon Music, YouTube Music, and other online digital music streaming and retail platforms.
