The Dear Misses is formally the Drummer and Bassist for five and a half year seasoned Lawrence/KC, Kansas Prog/Alt/Punk group, Left on Northwood. Todd Anderson(Rhythm/Lead Vox) and Cody Stapleton(Lead Guitar/Backing Vox) have been compiling riffs and melody’s for over three plus years now. They would bounce ideas off of each other over the phone and through email. Then as the time came and went, both musicians have been writing and recording at their respective home studio’s and have started feeling confident in rehearsing and putting together some of these songs. Up to about 6 months ago, The Dear Misses has grown in size and number. Behind the drumset for The Dear Misses is long time friend to Anderson and Stapleton, Bret Collins. Then finally, after some months of seeking out a full time committed bassist to fill in the blank, Shane Berggren, currently the frontman and guitarist of Lawrence/KC, Kansas area pop punk band 2twenty2, signed on with The Dear Misses. It took all of one jam session to realize that Berggren was the missing element in The Dear Misses experience……….So after solidifying the project, The Dear Misses has gone on to complete 18 solid tracks to be later released. Gaining inspiration from acts such as Brand New, Manchester Orchestra and Thrice, the group have honed their talents together to produce a great sound. Going from the daunting and whimsical track “Waves” to the top 40 friendly/poppy track “Keep You Up Tonight”* and smoothing out the edges with the 6:21 second long track “Throne”* and puts the finishing touches on with the dynamic track “Blame”*, The Dear Misses keeps their style eclectic and fresh. While Anderson and Stapleton are still DIY recording the demos, The Dear Misses will be reaching out to studio engineer/producer support in the months to come. At present, a full merch package is being put together while The Dear Misses is waiting on professional promo pics taken from Leroy Pristach, otherwise known by his photographer alias as, The Bearded Stranger. The Dear Misses is focusing on playing local/regional shows and while label support and financial backing for touring are goals the group have set in motion, their main focus at present is to do what feels right. Just making music for the love of making music. With that in mind, The Dear Misses plan to move forward very progressively with their online presence in the coming months to boost their fan base and overall static before their first show. So in the very near future, keep your eyes and ears open for The Dear Misses.
