LA-based songwriter Ethan Gold<\/strong><\/a> presents his new single ‘Our Love is Beautiful’<\/a><\/strong>, the first taste of his forthcoming album ‘Earth City’<\/strong>. With flair and optimism, the accompanying video features people from across the globe, each becoming part of this intercontinental, ultimately human journey.<\/p>\n

Gold makes lullabies of strength and catchy art rock for people who still dream. Personable, relatable and with depth, Gold sings about the longing for human connection in the city, and also for the natural world.<\/p>\n

“I wanted to express global consciousness in a way that felt like a celebration. The song is about love \u2014 self-love, romantic love, and love in the largest universal sense. The video was made on an old iphone, going on a round-the-world trip as I was recovering from a head injury. \u00a0People around the world delivering the words of the song. \u00a0This is a big call for global consciousness, delivered as simply as I can,” says\u00a0Ethan Gold<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The video features footage Gold took while traveling to Tokyo & Osaka (Japan), Hong Kong, Mumbai (India), Addis Ababa (Ethiopia), Istanbul (Turkey), Helsinki & Tampere (Finland), Vilnius (Lithuania), St Petersburg & Moscow (Russia), Mexico City & Patzcuaro (Mexico), as well as New York, Asheville, Cleveland, Nashville, San Francisco and Los Angeles. Clips were also submitted by fans and friends in the UK, Greece, Nepal, Costa Rica, Gaza, Hungary, France, Poland, Netherlands, Australia, New Zealand, South Korea, Taiwan, China, Indonesia, Ukraine, Brazil, Puerto Rico, Uruguay, Latvia and elsewhere in the USA.<\/p>\n

“This song is one of my most popular live songs, which I never put on my own record until now. For some people, this is a romantic song, and strangers find me online to ask for the chords so they can sing it to their spouses when they get married. For some people, it\u2019s an anthem about kinds of love that are suppressed, and it\u2019s an anthem of pride. For me it\u2019s a love song for all of humanity, a call to live fully in our personal truth, and a call to get humanity off the precipice. Through actually caring, even when nobody seems to think we should care about our own lives, or anybody else,” says Ethan Gold<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Raised in San Francisco during the long extended hangover after hippie times, Ethan Gold is son to Beat author Herbert Gold<\/strong> and Melissa Gold<\/strong>, a collaborator and girlfriend of legendary concert promoter Bill Graham<\/strong> – the two died together in a helicopter crash. \u00a0A childhood of constant change and chaos may have led Ethan to the unique way he approaches music. \u00a0Today he lives and dreams songs, sometimes writing music while asleep.<\/p>\n

Ethan Gold recently recorded his upcoming double-album ‘Earth City’<\/strong>, which explores themes of longing \u2014 for human connection, for romance, for city nightlife, and ultimately for connection to the threatened natural world. This double LP is a much-anticipated step forward for an artist whose path has been curved by inner impulse and fate. Here, Gold returns to the essential path of his original vision. On a mission to \u201cmake sensitivity cool again”, he\u2019s quiet enough to paint the delicate details of the modern age in songs, and willing to be strong enough to fight for the world as it could be.<\/p>\n

‘Our Love is Beautiful’ follows recent singles –\u00a0‘Not Me. Us’<\/a><\/strong>, a call for unity in troubled times, and ‘Never Met A World Like You’<\/strong><\/a>, an environmental song with highly impactful video, timed for the first climate strikes. He also performed at three LA rallies in 2019 for the first time since suffering a serious head injury in 2013. After a long recovery, he now credits the temporary dissolution of his cognitive ability with an upgraded inner power, creativity, and clarified mission: in a world that seems increasingly combative, bringing sensitive people and quieter things – music, poetry and the living earth – back into their magnificence.<\/p>\n

Following his acclaimed ‘Songs From A Toxic Apartment’<\/strong><\/a> LP (2017), 2018 brought the release of the naive-electronic ‘Expanses (Teenage Synthstrumentals)’<\/strong><\/a> and Gold\u2019s tribute to childhood favorites ‘Live Undead Bedroom Closet Covers’<\/strong><\/a>. Gold also handled film scoring for Blumhouse supernatural thriller ‘Don\u2019t Let Go’<\/strong><\/a> and brother Ari Gold<\/strong>‘s feature films ‘Adventures of Power\u2019<\/strong><\/a> and ‘The Song of Sway Lake\u2019<\/strong><\/a>, which features John Grant\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0the Staves<\/strong> singing Gold\u2019s songs.<\/p>\n

‘Our Love Is Beautiful’ is out now digitally, including stores such as Apple Music<\/strong><\/a>, and streaming platforms like Spotify<\/strong><\/a>. The ‘Earth City’ double LP will be released later this year.<\/p>\n
