Southern influenced hard rockers, Scattered Hamlet, have dropped their new single \u201cBlack Flag (I Like It)\u201d ahead of their coming EP, Wishing Well <\/em>(available Nov. 20). The band has also been announced as part of the Rock Fest 2021 lineup along with Disturbed, Staind, Steel Panther, Anthrax, Korn, Chevelle, Snoop Dogg and many others. Wishing Well<\/em> marks their first official album release since the tragic accident that left drummer, Jake Delling Le Bas, in a coma for nearly two years prompting them to release their version of the Twisted Sister classic, \u201cStay Hungry\u201d in his honor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to frontman\/guitarist, Adam Joad \u201cThe Appalachian Apostle,\u201d the band was set to release a full length but COVID19 forced them to shelve it due to their entire touring schedule getting cancelled for the summer. Joad explained, \u201c2020 was like a giant kick in the balls to the entire industry\u2026 we decided to shelve the full length for a later date release and put out an EP with some new tracks I had been writing during the lockdown.\u201d In regard to the single, Black Flag (I Like It), Joad stated, \u201cWith everything crazy going on in the world, I wanted to write a song about just getting in your car, cranking the tunes, and forgetting about your troubles. It was summer time, I was listening to the radio and I thought about all the bands that influenced our sound, and I wanted to give a few some shout outs\u2026shout outs are common in Outlaw Country and classic Hip Hop but not so much in the rock world. I figured why not, but it also had to have some slide and talkbox – then I was happy.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Scattered Hamlet describes themselves as the truck nutz of rock and roll. The band is fueled by an equal love of Smokey and the Bandit, the Dukes of Hazzard, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Motorhead, and Outlaw Country. Hailing from a variety of punk underground bands, Scattered Hamlet has had their music featured on the NASCAR Heat 3 video game soundtrack, WCPW Wrestling, Travis Pastrana\u2019s Nitro Circus and Adult Swim, while appearing live at major U.S. festivals like Sturgis Buffalo Chip (Mainstage), Rockfest, Rocklahoma, Inkcarceration, Vans Warped Tour, and strangely, even the Gathering of Juggalos. The band also maintains their own relentless touring schedule bringing their music to clubs, honky tonks and music halls across the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
