When and why did you start playing?
I started playing in 2015 after attending buzzfest 32 in Houston
2. Which instruments do you play?
I can play a little guitar and piano but not much but enough to get my ideas across. I sing and write mostly
3. What was the first tune(s) you learned?
Our first single “first taste of glory” to be completely honest.
4. Is your family musical?
My parents both love music but I’m the first in the family to really go after that career and my younger sister is the same.
5. Describe your family member’s musical interests and abilities.
My parents have always been to 80’s music so I grew up listening to Phil Collins, the outfield to journey and prince. My grandparents listen to a lot of 50s and 60s.
6. Which famous musicians do you admire? Why?
Matty Healy for his lyrics, Jacoby Shaddix for his performance, micheal Jackson, Elvis, Bert McCracken, and more.
7. Which famous musicians have you learned from?
I pay pretty close attention to most of the music scene and I think there is something to learn from all of them.
8. Who was your first teacher? Other teachers?
My first and best teacher was Mrs. Williams in first grade. She was awesome. I’ve never had a real music teacher so that about the best answer I have.
9. Describe your first instrument. Other instruments.
My first instrument was a guitar but I didn’t ever really play. I resorted to writing at a young age so I was really into that and I guess even then I liked that I could write, sing and perform more than I could play an actual instrument. Because even when it comes to writing music now, I’m able to explain my ideas to our producer very well and get back the song how I was thinking of it to be.
10. What are your fondest musical memories? In your house? In your neighborhood or town?
Probably when my mom showed me Green Day. That just widened the spectrum for me.
11. Were you influenced by old records & tapes? Which ones?
Yes of course. Anything by genesis, Elvis, the outfield, Reo speedwagon, aha, flock of seagulls.
12. Who are your favorite musicians? Groups? CD’s?
The 1975, papa roach, the used, the Japanese house. CDs: 21st century breakdown by Green Day, in love and death by the used, the connection by papa roach.
13. Have you been in competitions? Fleadh’s? Any prizes?
I’ve been in over 12 pie eating competitions and never won. But I have one the all state taco cooking jamboree 3 times in a row.
14. Do you perform in public? Describe those occasions? Concerts, radio, TV?
We perform around texas and getting into other states this year. We play headlining shows in Houston and Lubbock a lot. We sold out white Oak Music Hall in January.
15. Do you play for dances? Step-dancers? Describe the differences.
I don’t think we’ve ever played for dancers but that sounds really cool.
16. How do you handle mistakes during a performance?
Just keep going honestly. It isn’t worth getting mad about. Everyone is there having fun so if you’re on edge and embarrassed everyone starts to get on edge. So just keep going, laugh it off and make sure everyone is having a good time.
17. Do you get nervous before a performance or a competition?
Sometimes. Not before every performance but some I get really nervous
18. What advice would you give to beginners who are nervous?
Dream big. Don’t be scared. It’s ok to be because it can be scary but just work hard and follow your dream. Get a manager or at least some help. It makes it easier
19. Do you attend sessions? What makes a good session?
If by sessions you mean vocal coaching, no but I’d like to.
20. How often and for how long do you practice?
We practice every other week for a couple hours.
21. What do you practice – exercises, new tunes, hard tunes, etc.?
We just rehearse the songs we play live.
22. Do you teach music?
I do not teach music. I just write my own.
23. How do you balance your music with other obligations – mate, children, job?
Music is my top priority. That is my life, who I am, what I do. That is me.

1. When and why did you start playing? I started playing in 2015 after attending buzzfest 32 in Houston 2.
