Traditional metal recording artist\u00a0White Crone<\/strong>\u00a0recorded\u00a0Rainbow\u00a0<\/strong>\u2019s beloved \u201c\u00a0Stargazer\u00a0<\/strong>\u201d in honor of the memory of\u00a0Ronnie James Dio<\/strong>\u00a0and bassist\u00a0Jimmy Bain\u00a0<\/strong>.\u00a0\u00a0White Crone<\/strong>\u00a0‘s ”\u00a0Stargazer<\/strong>\u00a0” features\u00a0Dio<\/strong>\u00a0drummer\u00a0Vinny Appice<\/strong>\u00a0, Blues Rock guitarist\u00a0Alastair Greene<\/strong>\u00a0, keyboardist\u00a0Eric Lawrence<\/strong>\u00a0, and\u00a0Lisa Mann<\/strong>\u00a0(aka\u00a0White Crone<\/strong>\u00a0) on bass & vocals. The single was released on July 9, 2021, a day before Dio\u2019s birthday, and is only available in digital format at\u00a0www.whitecrone.com<\/a>\u00a0or on your favorite streaming platform.\u00a0
Award-winning blues artist Lisa Mann shocked her fans when she released a full length traditional metal album in 2020, The Poisoner.\u00a0The album received much critical acclaim from underground metal outlets worldwide, with many comparing her voice to that of Ann Wilson and Ronnie James Dio.\u00a0In 2021, Lisa began cooking up a plan to record a cover of Rainbow’s epic Dio-fronted song, “Stargazer.”\u00a0Fellow blues artist Alastair Greene shares a love for all things old-school metal and rock, and agreed to lend his guitar playing prowess to the song.\u00a0On keyboards, Lisa enlisted the help of Eric Lawrence, who played progressive rock with her back in her earliest years as a working musician.\u00a0And to fill out the line-up, none other than Dio\/ Black Sabbath drummer Vinny Appice filled the percussion chair.\u00a0All musicians tracked remotely, and the final takes were taken to Opal Studio where engineer Kevin Hahn recorded Lisa’s vocals and mixed and mastered the entire song.

White Crone’s “Stargazer” is even longer and more self-indulgent than the original, clocking in at almost nine minutes in length. The extended outro features soaring vocals, impassioned drum and bass guitar interplay, and an extended outro of duetting guitar and keyboard.
Ghost Cult Magazine (US) says “Mann covered Rainbow’s classic \u201cStargazer\u201d in an epic performance of the track, befitting the legend.” White Room Reviews (NL) says Lisa Mann’s vocals “do justice to the original.
