Anything from online marketing, advanced music theory, and even mastering can be absorbed at your own pace in a hard copy you can mark up and reference at any time. This also has the added benefit of keeping you out of the youtube sidescroll and continually working.

4. “What has been your biggest accomplishment in your career thus far?”

Fathoms. The national tours, labels and all of that were great in previous projects but launching Nomadic has been a dream. I didn’t know how to mix, how to use a DAW, “produce”, or even own a computer when this all started. I’m just a guitarist, so to come from that and release Fathoms is an enormous victory for me personally.
.
5. “What do you wish you had known when you started out?”

Time Management.

6. “What led you to becoming a singer-songwriter?”

Writing and performing have always been the biggest rush. Honestly if I’m not writing, I start to fall apart. The first lick I wrote on a bass was the start of it all.
.

7. “What do you think is your unique skill(s) that has helped you become successful?”

I’ve always had this weird style of holding thick chords and pulling leads out of them simultaneously. That’s always been my signature as well as a high energy performer I would say.

8. “How was your journey to what you do
Now?”

A whirlwind and a grind. The modern day home studio abilities constantly blow my mind and I want to learn and test as much as possible. Learn a technique or a theory and try to make something you’ve never heard before with it.

9. “How did this project begin?”

Hey… Bands break up right? So I wanted to do something for myself even if people hated it, I was just going to keep writing. Being involved in the field with marine life was very challenging. It’s INCREDIBLY difficult to fight that good fight and keep your heart pure. Combining my two loves was the main goal in staying sane.
.
10. “What makes this project different from “past projects?”

The relationship with the fans on this project is unlike anything I’ve ever experienced! It’s personal, genuine, and insanely positive. The best way to describe it is that it feels more like a unified group celebrating a common love. Very different from a typical Band-to-Fan relationship.
.
11. “What’s the inspiration behind this project?”

The Ocean.

12. “What word or phrase would you use to describe this project?”

Make Waves

13. “How can listeners get in touch with or support you?”

www.nomadicnarwhal.net Shoot a message in the contact form, send an email, or a FB message. These are the best ways to get ahold of me quickly. BTW I’m a sucker for fun ocean facts. 🙂

14. “What is coming up for you in the near future?”

Taking this thing live and the next record. I want to make sure the live show will be a unique experience so I am making a lot of careful decisions and adjustments to achieve that. Being a dad is gonna be a huge victory here shortly. Not to be too personal, but I’ve been waiting for this for a very long time. Stoked!
.
15. “Many people believe that becoming a musical artist is challenging to the point it
becomes overwhelming and too much to handle. Why do you think people believe that?”

It’s because they’re right! You have to wear 1,000 different hats, manage time and stay disciplined to do it all. But guess what? You Can! Start from scratch with a cool idea, be genuine to yourself, grab your social links and start. Doesn’t matter if it’s excruciatingly slow like Nomadic was or if you can get it rolling in three months; it still HAS to start… right?

16. “What’s the most common reason for people failing or giving up?”

Followers and views. If it doesn’t meet their expectations it always starts to go downhill. This is where being genuine with yourself and your earned fans is important. That is what is going to keep you going when the lights get dim 1; and 2, it’s infectious. Everywhere you look, ppl are being something they aren’t just to get views. I’d rather have 10 kickass fans that love what we experience and build together than 10,000 ppl that like some created character and not even see me for who I am.
.
17. “What is your favorite word?”

boop.

18. “What are you not very good at?”

Running…. a bear could be hurling down a hill for my ass and I would probably just take it.

19. “If you could have one superpower, what would it be?”

Shapeshifter hands down.

20. “If you were a type of food, what type of food would you be?”

a questionable taco

21. “If you could switch lives with someone for a day, who would you choose?”

I would gift it to a buddy who’s having a hard time.

About Fathoms:

Fathoms is a four part concept album exploring the different atmospheric zones in the ocean. Starting from the surface and ranging to the sea floor, each pelagic zone has its own curiosities and mystique. In short, Nomadic dedicates 3 songs per zone to musically capture the atmospheres encountered on a journey from topside to the deepest chasms of the ocean.

Part IV – Hadal Zone (Hadalpelagic Zone) is based on the always shifting and unstable sea floor / trenches. The deepest chasms of our planet.

Follow the band at these links:Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/c/NomadicNarwhal/featuredFacebook: https://www.facebook.com/nomadicnarwhalTwitter: https://twitter.com/NomadicNarwhalInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/nomadic_narwhal/Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/artist/0YCHHB7zVIQbVAQgoqcLVmApple Music: https://music.apple.com/us/artist/nomadic-narwhal/1601115563Bandcamp: https://nomadicnarwhal.bandcamp.com/

Location: Dayton, Ohio For more than just ocean lovers, Nomadic Narwhal takes a new path in sonic storytelling.
