\nTwo-time Dove Award winner Billy Gaines has inspired audiences worldwide\u00a0for more than four decades, spreading the gospel in song through\u00a0television, radio, albums, and live performances, including multiple\u00a0national Promise Keepers Conferences. A masterful performer, he has a\u00a0unique vocal style that spans musical genres and has been described as\u00a0\u201csmooth, captivating, and anointed.\u201d<\/p>\n
One of Billy\u2019s most recent accomplishments is his singing\/acting role in\u00a0the new Kathie Lee Gifford movie \u201cThe Way\u201d as the character Moses, singing\u00a0the song \u201cThe God of The How and When\u201d which premiered September 1, 2022.\u00a0He also became a published author with his first book \u201c Other Side of This\u00a0Trial\u201d My Story, His Plan, His Hand released November 28,2023.<\/p>\n
With his very first group, Living Sacrifice, he toured as a backup vocalist\u00a0for gospel legend Danniebelle Hall, former lead vocalist with Andra\u00e9 Crouch\u00a0and The Disciples.<\/p>\n
Doors opened even more when he moved to Nashville in 1984 where he landed\u00a0his first Songwriting\/Recording Artist Deal with Lorenz Creative Services\u00a0in 1985. In 1986, he and the late Sarah Gaines landed a five-album deal\u00a0from Benson Records. The duo quickly rose to prominence as R&B gospel\u00a0trailblazers, garnering six No. 1 singles on contemporary Christian radio\u00a0as well as a video (\u201cThat Is Why\u201d) that soared to No. 2 on the BET video\u00a0chart. Their eponymous debut album yielded several Top 10 CCM hits,\u00a0including \u201cCome Drink at My Table\u201d and \u201cYou Are Faithful.\u201d Later albums\u00a0would deliver classics such as \u201cAlways Triumphant,\u201d \u201cHow Great His Heart\u00a0Must Be,\u201d \u201cI Found Someone,\u201d \u201cFriends Indeed,\u201d and \u201cWhile You Wait.\u201d The\u00a0Duo\u2019s last release together was their \u201cCome on Back\u201d CD in 1997 on Warner\u00a0Alliance\/SoundHouse Records Produced by Michale Omartian with songs written\u00a0by Billy Gaines and Michael Omartian.<\/p>\n
As a sought-after studio vocalist, Billy has been featured on recordings by\u00a0numerous artists including CeCe Winans, Nicole C. Mullen, DC Talk, and many\u00a0others. He has also released a solo album, Ten Thousand Angels in 2006, an\u00a0inspired recording of 10 beloved vocal and piano hymns, with Billy\u2019s\u00a0Singing and Bernie Herms piano accompaniment. Billy was also featured on\u00a0the \u201cSing Me to Sleep Daddy\u201d CD. It is \u201cA Collection Of Original Ballads &\u00a0Lullabies\u201d singing the song \u201cFather\u2019s Arms\u201d in 1997.<\/p>\n
Yet even more powerful than Billy\u2019s musical gift is his testimony of faith.\u00a0He has observed God\u2019s hand on his life, time and time again, shepherding\u00a0him through incredible victories, shattering losses, and even near-death\u00a0experiences.<\/p>\n
