That song will be on an<br \/>\nupcoming album entitled \u201cSugar Melts\u201d featuring The Four Tops and<br \/>\nThe Contours.<br \/>\nMost of us remember Detroit City is Coming Back, a song that reaches<br \/>\nacross racial, ethnic and political lines, and promotes the Motor City<br \/>\nnationally and internationally. To accomplish this goal, Producer<br \/>\nParham assembled over 200 outstanding musicians, whose sole purpose<br \/>\nwas to record and proactively offer the song as a musical way to lift the<br \/>\nspirit of Detroit, promote citizen awareness, unity, and help the city<br \/>\nmove forward.<\/p>\n<p>Prior to that, he delivered a Mo-Jazz tribute to Motown Records with a<br \/>\nCD entitled Motor City Sax Appeal: My Tribute to the Motown Legends,<br \/>\nwith guest appearances by The Four Tops, The Miracles, The Contours,<br \/>\nThe Original Vandellas, Pat Lewis, Carolyn Crawford and five-time<br \/>\nGrammy award winner Michael J. Powell. Producers of the CD were<br \/>\nCarl \u201cButch\u201d Small and Maurice Whitsett.<\/p>\n<p>Parham, teacher and minister of music, is the recipient of five Mayoral<br \/>\nProclamations of Achievement from\u00a0Mayors Coleman A. Young, Dennis<br \/>\nW. Archer and Dave Bing of Detroit along with Mayor Martha G.<br \/>\nScott\u00a0of Highland Park, for accomplishments in the development of<br \/>\nMusic Arts and his outstanding contribution to the progress of both<br \/>\ncommunities. He also received the\u00a0Spirit of Detroit Award\u00a0from<br \/>\nthe\u00a0Honorable Mayor Dave Bing\u00a0for producing and arranging\u00a0Dream<br \/>\nDetroit\u00a0and the documentary, The Unsung of the Motown Empire.<\/p>\n<p>Presently, Walter Duane Parham is Founder and CEO of Educational<br \/>\nArts Society, a 501 c 3 nonprofit, that assists young artists in developing<br \/>\na professional music skill-set, coupled with a core value skill-set. The<br \/>\nParham Academy of Performing Arts, one of the \u201clegs\u201d of the<br \/>\norganization, focuses on delivering FREE instruments and lessons to<br \/>\nunder-privileged children in Detroit and surrounding cities.<\/p>\n<p>His book Can You Hear Me Now? which debuted in prose and CD<br \/>\nformat, was released in 2020 and can be found on Amazon and other<br \/>\nbook companies around the world. Life lessons learned and<\/p>\n<p>underscored in the book, are values and lessons that lead to positive life<br \/>\ndirection and are showcased by talk show hosts on his worldwide radio<br \/>\nstation eamtradio.com.<\/p>\n<p>True to his gospel roots, currently, Duane serves as a saxophonist at<br \/>\nGreater New Mt.
