1. \u201cRenewal\u201d follows \u201cSingularity\u201d as the second glimpse into\u00a0Aqua
\nHaze. Why was this the right track to release next?<\/p>\n
This is a song that was important to me to release. Its lyrics speak
\nof a busy and stressful time I went through, and despite everything,
\nI didn't break down. In my vision, I saw a crazy guitar solo, so I
\nasked my friend Ehud to record the solo in the song. After that, I
\ntold myself that this was a song that had to be released before the
\nalbum. I simply listened to my heart.<\/p>\n
2.The title suggests rebirth and transformation. What does
\n\u201cRenewal\u201d represent thematically within the album\u2019s larger
\njourney?
\nThis album is more mature, it's the beginning of a new direction for
\nSlowrepeat and for me too.<\/p>\n
3. How do you want listeners to\u00a0experience\u00a0this
\nsong\u2014headphones, long drives, late nights, or ritual listening?<\/p>\n
In any way they choose, but preferably with large speakers and
\nlots of bass and not with headphones \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n
2. Sound & Atmosphere<\/p>\n
4. Slowrepeat\u2019s music feels meditative as much as heavy. How
\nintentional is that balance between crushing riffs and<\/p>\n
trance-like repetition?<\/p>\n
It all happened naturally, we didn't choose the balance on the
\nalbum, it just came out that way and it's really good, it makes the
\nlistener interested.<\/p>\n
5.The desert-fuzz aesthetic is strong here. What draws you to that
\nvast, hypnotic sonic space?<\/p>\n
I don't think there was anything that specifically attracted me, I just
\nlet my heart and soul come out and the result is what you hear,
\nand I really like fuzz and the desert too.<\/p>\n
6. Bouzouki and Middle Eastern textures give the music a mystical
\nquality\u2014how do those elements shape the emotional core of
\n\u201cRenewal\u201d?<\/p>\n
In Renewal, there is no bouzouki, just a cool bluesy riff and an
\nendless rock solo. In the other songs, which do have bouzouki, it
\nfelt like the right thing to play and add these sounds to the rest of
\nthe music.<\/p>\n
3. Evolution Since \u201cSingularity\u201d
\n7. Compared to \u201cSingularity,\u201d \u201cRenewal\u201d feels deeper and more
\nimmersive. How does it expand the sonic universe you\u2019re building
\nwith\u00a0Aqua Haze?<\/p>\n
I try to stay in the same vein as Slowrepeat's music but try new
\nthings every now and then, like different rhythms, instruments, or
\ndifferent or additional lyrics so that the album doesn't get boring
\nand the sound expands and sparks interest, making the listener
\nunderstand that they have something to look forward to.<\/p>\n
8. Were there risks taken on this track that you didn\u2019t explore on
\nthe first single?<\/p>\n
No, there were no risks. Everything just flowed and formed into the
\nmost correct path.<\/p>\n
9. How do the two singles function together in setting expectations
\nfor the full album?<\/p>\n
Apart from the slower songs on the album – these two singles
\nreflect the style of the album and make the listener interested.<\/p>\n
4. Band Formation & Chemistry<\/p>\n
10. Slowrepeat began as a solo project and evolved into a three-
\npiece. How did that transition change the way songs like \u201cRenewal\u201d
\nare written?<\/p>\n
Yes, I am the leader and the main writer, but on this album there is
\nan entire song that I did not write, but Yotam, it is called Exodus,
\nand the song Singularity is also a song that was written together
\nwith Yotam, as is the instrumental track "Neima". Until then – both
\non the EP and on Abra Cannabra I was the only writer, but Yotam's
\ninfluences helped the way the album was written.<\/p>\n
11. What do Yair and Yotam bring to the sound that wasn\u2019t
\npossible in the project\u2019s early days?<\/p>\n
They add a lively spirit to the music and this is evident in the two
\nsongs on the album Psy Fuzz and Exit from the Maze, which were
\noriginally recorded and included in the first EP and have now been<\/p>\n
changed and re-recorded. Yotam also sing on Exit and it definitely
\nsounds good.<\/p>\n
12. How does the trio dynamic influence the hypnotic groove that
\ndefines your music?<\/p>\n
The dynamics between us are good and when everyone adds an
\nidea, sometimes good music comes out of it and an idea that
\nsurpasses expectations.<\/p>\n
5. The Album:\u00a0Aqua Haze
\n13. Aqua Haze\u00a0is a striking title\u2014what imagery or emotions does it
\ncapture for you?<\/p>\n
Aqua Haze are the words that open the song Exodus, that's
\nexactly what defines the album and my idea for the album name
\ncame naturally, I consulted with Yotam and he liked it and that's
\nhow the album name was actually born.<\/p>\n
14. Is the album meant to be listened to as a full journey rather
\nthan individual tracks?<\/p>\n
Both, but it's always better to hear the piece in its entirety.<\/p>\n
15. Where does \u201cRenewal\u201d sit in the emotional or narrative arc of
\nthe album?<\/p>\n
If I had to rate this, Renewal would be right in the middle.<\/p>\n
6. Production & Sonic Vision<\/p>\n
16. Craig Lauinger mastered the track\u2014what was important<\/p>\n
to preserve or emphasize during the mastering process?<\/p>\n
It was important to me to preserve the heavy sound of the fuzz and
\nthe bass. Rarig has known me and my music for several years and
\nhe knows how to do the job so that the sound only improves and
\nso do the elements of the music. In my opinion, Craig is a
\nmagician.<\/p>\n
17. Doom and heavy psych rely heavily on tone. How obsessive do
\nyou get about textures, fuzz, and space in the mix?<\/p>\n
I am very obsessed with a low and heavy tone and I don't
\ncompromise on it. Over the years I have experimented with all
\nkinds of sounds, but the experience and the effort that has passed
\nhave shaped the sound you hear on this album.<\/p>\n
18. How do you balance raw heaviness with clarity, especially for
\nsuch layered, atmospheric music?<\/p>\n
The balance happens by itself, we didn't think about the balance,
\nwe simply brought everyone to this album, and the order of the
\nsongs we chose also creates a certain balance in the album.<\/p>\n
7. Influences & Identity<\/p>\n
19. Bands like Electric Wizard, Acid King, and Elder are often
\nmentioned alongside Slowrepeat\u2014how do those influences
\nmanifest without defining you?<\/p>\n
I like the bands you mentioned but I haven't tried to create music
\nthat resembles them. It probably happened by itself because I'm<\/p>\n
influenced by them and other bands in these genres, so it's evident
\nin the music. On the other hand, I try to bring myself, but this music
\nis probably in my DNA.<\/p>\n
20. How does being forged in the Mediterranean underground
\nshape your sound compared to traditional desert doom scenes?<\/p>\n
The music I've heard over the years has also included
\nMediterranean music, and I myself also play the bouzouki, so a
\nblend of all the music I was influenced by was created, and it
\ndistilled into our music that you hear.<\/p>\n
21. Do you see Slowrepeat as part of a scene, or more as a
\nsolitary cosmic entity?<\/p>\n
We are part of the global and local stoner doom scene, but we try
\nto maintain uniqueness while also operating as individual entities.<\/p>\n
8. The Listener\u2019s Journey<\/p>\n
22. Many fans describe your music as immersive or even ritualistic.
\nDo you think of your songs as soundscapes rather than traditional
\nstructures?<\/p>\n
I don't try to work according to a traditional method. I let my mind
\nfree and just play and that's what comes out.<\/p>\n
23. What emotions or states of mind do you hope \u201cRenewal\u201d
\nunlocks for the listener?<\/p>\n
Let them listen to the words and maybe they will identify with them,
\nnot to break even when it's hard.<\/p>\n
24. Have you noticed listeners engaging with your music in
\nunexpected ways?<\/p>\n
No.<\/p>\n
9. Looking Ahead
\nWith\u00a0Aqua Haze\u00a0arriving in January 2026, what should listeners
\nbrace themselves for beyond what the singles reveal?<\/p>\n
25. A very interesting album musically, the sound is more polished,
\nthere are fewer instrumental tracks than the previous album and
\nthere are also two new songs from the first EP, I have no doubt
\nthat listeners will enjoy it.<\/p>\n
26. How do you envision translating the hypnotic weight of
\n\u201cRenewal\u201d into a live setting?<\/p>\n
As it sounds on the album, we played this song once at one of our
\nshows and Ehud Danan also joined in and it was just an amazing
\nexperience for everyone.<\/p>\n
27. Is Slowrepeat\u2019s future about going deeper into this sound, or
\nexploring new cosmic directions?<\/p>\n
I can only say that we will start working on the next album and its<\/p>\n
tone will be lower \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n

Our renewal is happening all the time and I am sure it will open a
\nnew and good chapter for us.<\/p>\n

\nexpress when the project began?<\/p>\n
There is no substitute for human musicians. Even the songs we
\nrenewed from the first EP sound better with Yotam and Yair than
\nthe first versions recorded without them. They brought their spirit
\nand inspiration to Slowrepeat that were missing when I was a solo
\nproject.<\/p>\n
30. For someone discovering Slowrepeat for the first time, what
\nshould they surrender to when pressing play?<\/p>\n
For those discovering Antheno for the first time, I recommend
\nturning up the bass before pressing play and letting them immerse
\nthemselves in the music and it will do the work.<\/p>\n
