  2. For people just discovering Raw Pain Down\u2014how would you describe your sound in one sentence?\u00a0\u00a0Exciting<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    1. You guys are coming out of the New Jersey metal scene\u2014what\u2019s that scene like right now, and how has it shaped your sound?\u00a0 \u00a0The scene in north\u00a0Jersey is very healthy\u00a0 There are plenty of bands, hard and metal,\u00a0performing and releasing material.\u00a0 Just take a look at Dingbatz and that is a good measure as to what’s happening locally and in some respect, nationally since they do get acts from all over the country there.<\/span><\/li>\n
    2. You\u2019ve been compared to bands like Exodus, Judas Priest, and Iron Maiden\u2014how do those influences show up in your music?\u00a0\u00a0The song forms and lyrics tend to be close to those styles.\u00a0 We do have one lead guitarist but sometimes the singer will play rhythm playing somewhat different parts than the lead giving the sound a texture close to those classic bands.\u00a0 Lyrics tend to cover similar topics of struggles, stories (we have a new Harry Potter song).\u00a0 Angry Man is directly about a violent criminal and the dread that brings in society.<\/span><\/li>\n
    3. What separates Raw Pain Down from the rest of the modern metal crowd?\u00a0\u00a0The vocals are more traditional and melodic, not so distorted\/scream and atonal like many of the newer styles of metal.\u00a0 \u00a0The singer likes to keep the verses and choruses melodic the people can sing along with.\u00a0 \u00a0There are times where he’ll sing with a timbre that is more modern.\u00a0 \u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

Let\u2019s dive into the album\u2014what does\u00a0Echoes of Silence<\/em>\u00a0represent for the band at this stage?\u00a0\u00a0The album in the aggregate has songs that cover topics like personal struggles like\u00a0Tornado<\/i>, religion and secular themes Quicksand and Echoes.\u00a0 We like to address issues in humanity and some make believe, like the new song based on the third book of Harry Potter.\u00a0 We are an art and leave\u00a0some of the lyrics up to interpretation and not so direct on a subject.<\/span><\/li>\n
      2. The title alone is powerful\u2014what\u2019s the meaning behind\u00a0Echoes of Silence<\/em>?\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0The lyrics behind that song are when people stop thinking and let religion take over and there will result in a stop in the evolution and innovation of society.\u00a0 Just think, if Galileo didn’t pursue observing and applying his studies to the moons of Jupiter, we’d most likely believe that the sun still revolves around us.<\/span><\/li>\n
      3. This record blends thrash, progressive, and classic heavy metal\u2014was that intentional, or did it evolve naturally?\u00a0 \u00a0That is definitely intentional.\u00a0 The guitarist composed the majority of the songs on this record. And his style is exactly\u00a0that.<\/span><\/li>\n
      4. Is there a track on the album that you feel defines RPD right now?\u00a0\u00a0Tornado and Take A Walk.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

        1. The album touches on resilience, rebellion, and introspection\u2014where did those themes come from?\u00a0\u00a0Personal experience and observation of others.<\/span><\/li>\n
        2. How personal is this record compared to your previous work?\u00a0 \u00a0This is a new band and we haven’t recorded prior to this album.\u00a0 We are currently ready for the next album so it\u00a0will be the goal to out do this one in quality.<\/span><\/li>\n
        3. When you\u2019re writing, does the music come first\u2014or do the lyrics and message lead the way?\u00a0 \u00a0It depends.\u00a0 Sometimes the singer will have some lyrics written about a topic or the band will be practicing\u00a0and an idea comes to the guitarist or other member, but mainly guitars starting with a riff.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

          \"🎚️\"\u00a0PRODUCTION \/ SOUND<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n

          1. You worked with producer Chris Drapeau\u2014what did he bring to the table that elevated this album?\u00a0 \u00a0Chris is awesome.\u00a0 He has a really good ear for the band’s sound and he’s a pro at ProTools.\u00a0 We had to record quickly since we were on a tight budget.\u00a0 So he\u00a0knew how to organize the recording in a way that met our goal.\u00a0 He also is a guitarist and has plenty of experience touring and recording with his previous bands.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n
          2. Sonically, this album feels big and aggressive\u2014what was the vision going into the studio?\u00a0 \u00a0Yes\u00a0 With Chris, he knew our live sound was just that.\u00a0 So he made sure to capture that in the studio.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

            \"🤘\"\u00a0LIVE ENERGY \/ PERFORMANCE<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n

            1. Your sound is described as relentless\u2014how does that translate to your live shows?\u00a0 \u00a0For one, we are pretty exhausted at the end of a show.\u00a0 We bring it to the audience.\u00a0 We want them to have a night to remember from the songs and performance of them in a way that is inspiring.\u00a0 Seeing a band live should not be a disappointment.\u00a0 Just as we saw bands when we were younger and went home elated and psyched to practice and do just like what we saw, that’s how we want our fans to feel.<\/span><\/li>\n
            2. What can fans expect when they come see Raw Pain Down live?\u00a0\u00a0To leave happier than they came. To be inspired and to think about some of the topics and maybe see what they can do to make the world a better place or just feel a catharsis and just feel better.\u00a0 \u00a0We want them to love the music and bang their heads!<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

              \"🔥\"\u00a0METAL CULTURE \/ COMMUNITY<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n

              1. Metal fans are some of the most loyal out there\u2014what does the metal community mean to you guys?\u00a0\u00a0Everything.\u00a0 Without them we’d wouldn’t have any gigs!<\/span><\/li>\n
              2. Where do you see modern metal heading right now\u2014and where does RPD fit into that future?\u00a0\u00a0Well, modern has a timbre that is becoming repetitive with the\u00a0 rhythmic atonal singing style and the low tuned 8 strings and odd meters.\u00a0 \u00a0I, Shadow, don’t know if I would listen to those bands in my car as much but do find them exciting live, bands like Jinjer, but only so much on the bill that is in the same style.\u00a0 However, fans still like something they can sing along with and a chorus they can take home with them in their mind.\u00a0 RPD is going to stay true to ourselves.\u00a0 We are experienced musicians and know of these more modern sounds in guitars and vocals, but we will continue to create and experiment if new sounds come up naturally.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

                \"🚀\"\u00a0FUTURE \/ NEXT MOVES<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n

                1. Now that\u00a0Echoes of Silence<\/em>\u00a0is out, what\u2019s next\u2014touring, videos, more music?\u00a0\u00a0We have finished 2 videos and a\u00a03rd is in the making.\u00a0 We are performing with the Kings of Thrash (Dave Ellison formerly of Megadeth) this May 7th.\u00a0 We want to be\u00a0at a metal festival here and in\u00a0Europe this summer.\u00a0 \u00a0We have material ready for the next album but will record those songs one at a time and release them as we go since that\u00a0seems to be the way people listen these days.\u00a0 We also have an arrangement of our songs for a string orchestra of which we will have an acoustic set up for.\u00a0 Kind of like the old Unplugged from MTV days.\u00a0 We are just securing a venue at the moment.\u00a0 It will be a new way to hear our songs.<\/span><\/li>\n
                2. Are there plans to take this album worldwide?\u00a0 Our distribution through CD Baby has made it worldwide.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

What\u2019s been the most intense or memorable moment for the band so far?\u00a0 \u00a0We just played an acoustic show in Willimantic CT and it was an interesting crowd.\u00a0 Some of the bands there were really interesting too.\u00a0 But playing at Dingbatz is always great.\u00a0 Eveyshow is intense!<\/span><\/li>\n
                  2. If you could tour with any band\u2014past or present\u2014who would it be and why?\u00a0\u00a0Dio.\u00a0 His level of professionalism playing live is on the next level.\u00a0 That would only make us better.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
