GILBY CLARKE, best known for his time as rhythm guitarist for Guns N\u2019 Roses, and TONY MACALPINE, one of rock&#8217;s most amazing and versatile musicians, are just two amazing artists that AXES &#038; ANCHORS cruise will be adding to the already stellar line-up.<\/p>\n<p>In addition, the cruise is announcing a variety of non-guitar oriented workshops for music fans and musicians of all backgrounds to enjoy. Musical education and teaching is very important to the AXES &#038; ANCHORS mission. Whether you are a vocalist, bassist, drummer, photographer, tour manager or just interested in learning more about music in general, you\u2019ll have much to enjoy on the AXES &#038; ANCHORS cruise. See below for more information on each new artist and what they will be doing on the cruise.<\/p>\n<p>GILBY CLARKE:<br \/>\nGILBY CLARKE is a producer and musician who has collaborated with many artists including Slash&#8217;s Snakepit, Tommy Lee, Jason Newsted and Nancy Sinatra. At the age of 17, he made the move from Cleveland to Hollywood to pursue a music career. His first real success came with the rock band Candy before joining Guns N\u2019 Roses in support of their massive Use Your Illusion tour. Clarke has also enjoyed a successful solo career with several acclaimed albums including Pawnshop Guitars. His latest project, Kings of Chaos, features many well-known artists such as Steven Tyler, Glenn Hughes, Billy Gibbons and Robin Zander, among others.<br \/>\nClarke was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2012, and that same year received The Video Vanguard Award, a lifetime achievement award given to musicians who have made a profound effect on the MTV culture with their body of work.<\/p>\n<p>GILBY CLARKE will be performing TWO FULL CONCERTS with his band, and also offering a ONE-HOUR GUITAR WORKSHOP, and a PHOTO OP with each passenger!<\/p>\n<p>Clarke states, \u201cI\u2019m so happy to announce that I\u2019ll be taking part in the inaugural AXES &#038; ANCHORS Cruise, setting sail in February 2016. I can\u2019t wait to get out on the high seas and perform for deserving fans and enjoy all that the cruise has to offer.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>TONY MACALPINE:<br \/>\nWhether performing as a solo artist, band member, session player, or as a producer, TONY MACALPINE is one of rock\u2019s most amazing and versatile musicians. He incorporates classical, jazz and fusion influences into the hard rock\/metal genre on both guitar and keyboards. MacAlpine is a classically trained pianist and violinist. He began his musical education at age 5 as a piano major at the Springfield Conservatory, and at age 12 he picked up the guitar. \u201cDiscovered\u201d in the pages of Guitar Player magazine, he went on to become a leader in the neoclassical guitar virtuoso movement. In his 25-plus year career he has eleven solo albums, four albums with his jazz-fusion band CAB, three albums with progressive rock band Planet X, and a number of other band projects.
