Recently James Lowe from The IDEA Magazine sat down with one of the very exciting artists on the scene. The following is a written interview we conducted with the artist while they were working on their next CD and Tour. First off<\/p>\n

I want to thank you for taking the time out of your busey schedule to talk to us here today, as i know our readers have been requesting us get you in here some how some way. You folks have been described by your fans as internet<\/p>\n

sensations in this interview we will attempt to figure out how this artist became such a great performer and what they have going forward.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Do you remember how the idea of forming the band first came up?\u00a0Yea \u2026 it all started with a photoshoot. I’ve been singing in the church choir since I was old enough to talk and remember the words. I grew up very reserved, but eventually I got a hold of the mic and took lead.\u00a0 I didn’t start rapping and songwriting until about three years ago when I started to pursue music professionally.\u00a0 I mean I\u00a0was on my way to becoming the world’s greatest accountant until I took a sabbatical from work.\u00a0 I wanted to see if entertaining was something I could do as a career and not just a hobby.\u00a0I met a producer in Queens\u00a0at my first professional photoshoot.\u00a0 He was looking for someone to lay some reference vocals to some of the tracks he produced to submit to Jazmine Sullivan for placement.\u00a0 After I saaaang for him lol, he asked me “Do you write?” I said\u00a0 “I do now!”. I went home and wrote 10 song in like 2 hours. Once I put the melodies to the music, I had caught the artist bug, bad!<\/p>\n

Tell us about the band’s name?\u00a0My name is Tamara Bubble. Tamara is my middle name. ‘Bubble’ was given to me lol \u2026 when guys said it, it was out of pure lust lol.\u00a0 When girls said it, it was because of my personality.<\/p>\n

What is your latest album and why should people buy it?\u00a0Latest project is Living It Up and is perfect for the summer with all the good weather, good food, good vacations and great memories coming along this summer. Now’s the perfect time to get good music to go with it.\u00a0 Living It Up is now available on iTunes.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

How would you categorize the style of the band?\u00a0Real, raw and undefined! I do everything from Dance to Hip Hop, blending elements of Jazz and Soul. My vocal range is bananas too (baritone to Soprano). My music is based on things I see, feel and experience. Whatever’s real to me because that’s what people can relate to. I record the good, the bad and ugly. I’m all about blending genres and speaking on touchy subjects. I enjoy singing or rapping about the big pink elephant in the room. I love writing about the things that we all know goes on, but nobody wants to talk about. I’m perfectly comfortable with the uncomfortable.<\/p>\n

Can you share with us one or two of your favorite moments with the band?\u00a0Hmmm well a couple of woo-sahhs later I can laugh at this! My first show on the \u201cUnleashed\u201d promo tour was a doozy. Well, getting there anyway. I over packed because well I’m a girl and tend to bring everything I own for a one day trip.\u00a0 Ended up having to dump everything to make room for the merchandise I was selling at the show (posters, t-shirts, CDs) and then had nerve to miss my flight GRRR! Ahem … I won’t name names LOL.\u00a0 Next, I got hustled by the flight agent and paid extra for this unguaranteed standby flight and also had issues renting the pre-reserved, NONREFUNDABLE, rental car!! Unfortunately I don’t walk around with copies of utility bills in my back pocket GRRRR!!\u00a0 Now, over 4 hours late (and been growling all day), I no longer have time to stop by the hotel, check in, shower and change.\u00a0 AIRPORT bathroom is the new Marriott! Then, this freaking taxi guy (not knowing that we’re already 4 hours late), takes the scenic route from the airport (plays the GPS game) to run up the meter GRRRRRR! When I get there though, my attitude changed and all things were Bubbly! People waiting to see the “Bubble On Deck” was such an amazing feeling! Atlanta showed so much love ^_^.<\/p>\n

The moral of that story is don’t miss your flight lol no I just learned that no matter what’s going on in your day, when you have a show, your job as an artist is to entertain!<\/p>\n

Does the entire band contribute to the writing process?\u00a0I do all the writing. I’m a solo act babes!<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

How important do you rate the lyrical side of your albums?\u00a0Extremely important. The concepts of my songs have to powerful, comical and sexy \u2026 all things bubbly! The lyrics have to be on point too. After all, what’s the point of making music with no message.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

What are your current tour plans, if any?\u00a0Next show is at the Hard Rock Caf\u00e9, Atlanta GA. And I’m currently working on putting the summer tour together for ‘Living It Up’. All my shows are posted on my official website under ‘events’.<\/p>\n

Describe your live performance?\u00a0\u00a0It depends on the venue, the set length and the expected crowd. I have so much material and I can bring live band and dancers and the whole 9 yards, but what I’m remembered for is the fact that I can stand alone with a hype man to some backing tracks or I can do a capella.<\/p>\n

Tell us about your thoughts on your local music scene?\u00a0\u00a0New York music scene is very much crabs in a barrel.\u00a0 So much competition lol, but then again you’re competing with all the artist in the world because everything is online. I do find that more and more people are artist, whether it’s their passion or not and so they’re not supportive because they’re working on their own movement. Lol very dog-eat-dog mentality.\u00a0 I prefer chicken or beef. I don’t eat dog lol<\/p>\n

Why do you think people are into your music?\u00a0\u00a0People want real relatable music. People don’t only listen to one genre. Nobody is as compartmentalized as the way music is marketed. I do so many genres on many subjects, but it’s authentic.<\/p>\n

What is the most played track on your iTunes?\u00a0\u00a0My song Get Loud<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

What is your most cherished musical object?\u00a0\u00a0My voice. I try to take care of it by flossing gargling and brushing my teeth lol<\/p>\n

Do you have go-to album on a rainy day?\u00a0Michael Jackson lol Bad!! I don’t wanna be depressed I was sing and dance in the rain lol that makes it go away quicker<\/p>\n

First band t-shirt you ever purchased at a concert?\u00a0First concert I ever went to was Bilal. He was amazing<\/p>\n

Last record you purchased?\u00a0Maxwell \u2026 That pretty wings song did it for me<\/p>\n

If for some reason you lost the ability to make and play music, what would fill that gap?\u00a0\u00a0Acting, dancing, some form of entertainment \u2026 or I’d just go make some money as an accountant<\/p>\n

Would there be any one band or musician that would surprise us that you are listening to them?\u00a0Probably not, I listen to the classics in many genres: Lena Horne, Notoruius B.I.G., Lil Kim, SWV, Brownstone, Boyz II Men, 112, 702, Take 6, John P Kee and the list goes on<\/p>\n

How has Social Networking (Facebook, Twitter, etc.) impacted your band?\u00a0It’s been a big help. I have supporters all over the world. I get feedback instantly from fans before I even go to radio for promotions. The networking is easier with DJs, promoters. A great deal of convenience come along with the Internet.<\/p>\n
