Elk City

Art pop band ELK CITY presents new timidly confessional single ‘Apology Song’, a Suzanne Vega-esque offering from their new album ‘Above the Water’. Perhaps the most well-crafted song to date from the band (with one foot in New Jersey and one in NYC), the humorous video that accompanies should not distract you from their straight-up songwriting craftsmanship. The new ‘Above The Water’ LP features the band’s new lineup, which includes members of VERSUS, LUNA and PSYCHEDELIC FURS side-project FEED.

Stereo Embers Magazine calls this “a jaunty blast of shimmering indie pop that boasts one of the most infectious choruses of the year. Although we’re heading into the wintery season, the melodic frolic of “Apology Song” is instantly evocative of summer; its sweet vocals, its rich and sauntering bass and its sunny guitar lines combining to summon a warm and carefree late June afternoon.
