The song was written focusing on frontman, Adam’s own past experience of getting ripped off by a record label and being unable to fight back due to the huge cost of justice, but Adam has stated that he feels the song gives a voice to anyone who feels they have been treated unfairly by a law or system that has failed them.
If you feel you need to vent your frustrations or even if you just love fast paced, angst filled heavy metal songs, this one is for you!

L.O.C. are known as groove metal beasts. Tell us a bit about the band — where you’re from, how long you’ve been together, and what drives that heavy, wall-pounding sound?
The beast that is L.O.C was founded in early 2025 by frontman Adam, and over the year evolved into its current form which is Adam on guitar and vocals, Dave on bass and backing vocals, Will on lead guitar and Mark on drums. We are from East Yorkshire UK in and around the seaside town of Bridlington. Our drop tuned, heavy, wall pounding sound is driven by our love of good old no frills thumping metal music. We are just four guys who love letting it all out and giving it hard!

You’ve just dropped the new single “F.T.L.” — a fast, fist-pumping, angst-filled groove metal anthem. What does F.T.L. stand for, and why did you decide to go this hard with this release?
F.T.L stands for FUCK THE LAW. We decided to go hard with this one because it has such a strong message and also because it’s just a banger of a tune!
The New Single – F.T.L. 3. The song focuses on legal injustice and feeling powerless against a broken system. Frontman Adam, this track draws directly from your own past experience of getting ripped off by a record label. How personal is this song for you?
This song is very personal to me. Years ago I was signed to a record label on a licensing deal, they took stock worth 7k off me, sold it and then refused to pay me. Even though I had the contacts vetted by a music industry lawyer, the legal cost of recovering the money would have been higher that what I was owed due to certain legal clauses. This to me showed that justice isn’t free or fair. As a young ambitious musician this was a hard lesson to learn. Hard enough to write this song about.
-
You’ve said the song gives a voice to anyone who’s been screwed over by the law or a system that failed them. What kind of reactions have you already received from fans who relate to the message?
The song is getting a huge reaction, the biggest we’ve had to any song we’ve released yet. There is a lot of injustice in the world today and I think this is a song relatable to pretty much everyone.
-
Musically, “F.T.L.” is described as a wall-pounding anthem with a break-neck chorus that makes people want to pump their fists. How did you build that groove and energy in the studio?
We love what we do so energy is something we have in abundance. This coupled with Colin Richardson’s amazing production techniques just means we have the perfect machine to create the best music we can. We put our heart, soul and passion into every note and beat.
-
This single feels controversial — were you intentionally pushing boundaries with the lyrics and message, or did it come naturally from real-life frustration?
Well the concept came from real life frustration but I think the song has naturally evolved into having a more widespread message. Pushing the boundaries was intentional, and so is the raw emotion F.T.L is delivered with.
-
If someone is listening to “F.T.L.” for the first time, what do you want them to feel — anger, empowerment, release, or all of the above?
We want them to feel understood and accepted. Like they finally have an outlet for their emotions and are part of a family who understands them. Like they have a voice through us.
Creative Process & Band 8. Adam, as the frontman and main writer, how did you turn that personal experience of being ripped off into a song that resonates with so many people?
That is easy, it’s all in the chorus. It’s straight to the point and leaves no room for confusion. On first listen the message is already hugely obvious.
-
How did the rest of the band contribute to the heavy groove and intensity on this track? Any standout moments during recording?
We have never tried to sound like anyone else, we just go with the flow and see where it takes us. The L.O.C sound is created by each of our styles all put together. We have great chemistry and this is what makes us unique. Our sound is instantly recognisable. As regards standout moments while recording, we only do standout.
-
Compared to your previous material, how does “F.T.L.” represent the current evolution of L.O.C.’s sound?
F.T.L is faster, heavier and more aggressive than our earlier material. That said, each of our songs has its place and is all part of our story so we love them all.
Message & Future 11. In a time when many people feel frustrated with systems, courts, labels, and authority in general, do you see “F.T.L.” as more than just a metal song — almost like a vent session or protest track?
F.T.L is most definitely a vent session and a protest track. Most importantly it’s an outlet to stop people dealing with their frustrations in a negative way. It gives people a release through us.
-
What’s the plan now that “F.T.L.” is out on all major streaming platforms? Any tours, more new music, or full album coming soon?
We plan to hit the road again in August as we are currently working on new material. We are planning to have an E.P out towards the end of the year so watch this space….
Closing / Call to Action 13. Where can fans check out the new single and the official video right now?
-
Final words — what do you want to say to fans who are currently dealing with their own battles against unfair systems?
You aren’t alone and we hear you. Come and join the L.O.C family, we are waiting for you and we understand you.
