Riftpatrol Expands the Universe with “Parasite” — A Cinematic Metal Experience

🎙️ KJAG RADIO EXCLUSIVE
Riftpatrol Expands the Universe with “Parasite” — A Cinematic Metal Experience

In a world where music is evolving beyond just sound, Riftpatrol is pushing boundaries into something far more immersive. With the release of their new single “Parasite,” the project continues to blur the lines between music, storytelling, and cinematic world-building.

Drawing from deeply personal themes and combining global influences, Riftpatrol isn’t just creating songs—they’re building an entire universe. We caught up with the mind behind the project to dive into the meaning behind “Parasite,” the expanding Riftpatrol storyline, and what’s coming next.

🎤 THE INTERVIEW
🔥 ABOUT THE NEW SINGLE

Q: Your new single “Parasite” is out now—what does this track represent for Riftpatrol at this stage of the project?
A: “Parasite” is part of the core world-building. It makes it clear that this universe isn’t just a safe space—it’s not just about sound anymore. It’s about translating a very specific feeling into something immersive. I wanted to release it early because it shows that Riftpatrol is not confined to one genre.

Q: “Parasite” dives into themes of isolation and emotional collapse—what inspired that direction?
A: It comes from personal experiences. The idea that loneliness can grow inside you like something living—and then burst out—is a powerful metaphor. That’s really what “Parasite” is about: the intensity of feeling alone.

Q: How do you want listeners to feel after hearing “Parasite” for the first time?
A: I want listeners to feel open to new horizons. And if the topic connects, I want them to feel like they’re not alone with that emotion—that the song gives a name to something they couldn’t fully describe before.

🌌 THE RIFTPATROL UNIVERSE

Q: Riftpatrol is more than a band—it’s a cinematic universe. When did that idea begin?
A: That vision was there from the very beginning when I started making music. I’ve always loved projects like Ayreon, and I wanted to create something where listeners can dig deeper into a world.

Q: Who is “The Captain,” and how central is he to the story?
A: The Captain is the protagonist—a detective working for Riftpatrol, which is essentially a universe-spanning special police force. He’s not a typical hero. He’s respected but operates as a loner, doing things his own way.

Q: Are all your releases connected in one timeline?
A: Yes, everything is connected—but not always in a linear way. Some releases are direct continuations, others are fragments or different perspectives. It’s more about exploring layers than following a straight timeline.

🎶 SOUND & STYLE

Q: Your sound blends multiple genres—how do you keep it cohesive?
A: I don’t know if there’s a traditional “balance,” but that’s part of the style. If a section needs to be heavy, it’s heavy. If it needs space, it breathes. That approach keeps everything cohesive, even with very different influences.

Q: The track shifts between heavy and atmospheric moments—how intentional is that?
A: Completely intentional. That contrast reflects the theme—the way emotions and mental pressure can suddenly explode.

Q: Do you see Riftpatrol fitting into a genre?
A: Not really—and that’s the point. It’s more about building its own identity. Everything is possible, though I still keep it grounded within a metal framework.

🤝 COLLABORATIONS

Q: “Parasite” features multiple collaborators—how did that come together?
A: The track is actually a developed re-release of a song called “Infected,” which already brought these artists together. It fit perfectly into the storyline, so I convinced everyone to revisit it under the new concept.

Q: With multiple languages and styles involved, how do you keep it unified?
A: Everything is built around the same emotional core—that’s what keeps it together.

🎨 VISUAL & CREATIVE DIRECTION

Q: How important are visuals to Riftpatrol?
A: They’re just as important as the music. Riftpatrol is meant to be experienced, not just heard. Right now, I’m working on finding the right visual artist, but the vision is definitely there.

Q: Do the music and visuals develop together?
A: Most of the time, yes. It’s a back-and-forth process—sometimes a scene inspires a sound, sometimes the music shapes the visuals.

🌍 GLOBAL & CREATIVE VISION

Q: How important is the global collaboration aspect of Riftpatrol?
A: It’s essential. Different cultures bring different emotional nuances, and that adds depth. It also reinforces the idea that these themes are universal.

Q: What’s the long-term vision for the project?
A: To keep expanding—musically, visually, and narratively. Not just more songs, but a complete experience.

🚀 WHAT’S NEXT

Q: What’s the next chapter after “Parasite”?
A: This is just one part of a larger arc. The next releases will continue building the world, introducing new perspectives and more “cases” for The Captain.

Q: Can fans expect a larger project soon?
A: Absolutely. There’s an EP coming first, then a full album. There may also be some surprise releases along the way.

Q: Any plans beyond music—film, animation, gaming?
A: Definitely. The structure is already there, and I believe the stories could easily expand into something like a Netflix series.

🔚 OUTRO

With “Parasite,” Riftpatrol proves they’re not just another act in the metal scene—they’re architects of an evolving, multi-dimensional universe. Blending raw emotion, genre-defying sound, and cinematic ambition, this project is carving out a lane entirely its own.

RIFTPATROL LAUNCHES CINEMATIC UNIVERSE WITH NEW SINGLE “PARASITE” FEAT. YUUKO SINGS, DJ NEON NIGHTS & AMANDA POWER

Riftpatrol, the boundary-pushing project formed in 2025, is stepping fully into its own lane with the release of their new single “Parasite,” out now on all major platforms.

Built as more than just a music project, Riftpatrol fuses modern heavy music with cinematic storytelling and a growing visual universe. The sound pulls from metalcore, alternative rock, goth, and J-rock, shifting between crushing heaviness and eerie atmosphere without ever settling into one box. It hits hard, then pulls you into something stranger right after.

At the center of Riftpatrol’s world is The Captain, a detective navigating fractured realities, chasing truth across timelines and broken dimensions. Every release adds another chapter to the story, expanding through manga and webtoon-inspired visuals where characters evolve alongside the music itself.

“Parasite” is the latest entry in that unfolding narrative, and it does not hold back. The track explores isolation, emotional weight, and the slow collapse that comes when you feel disconnected from everything around you. It is heavy in both sound and meaning, built to pull the listener directly into that headspace.

The single features Yuuko Sings, DJ Neon Nights, and Amanda Power, bringing together a global mix of voices and styles. The result is a cinematic metalcore and J-rock fusion layered with multilingual vocals, eerie melodies, and massive drops that swing between beauty and chaos.

Riftpatrol continues to build through collaboration, bringing together artists from different countries, languages, and creative backgrounds. The goal is not to fit into a scene, but to build a universe of its own.

“Parasite” is out now.
