The interview questions are answered by True Love Devil singer Nick DiNardo
1. “What’s a common myth about Independent Artists and can you debunk it?”
I think that a common misconception is that you become an overnight sensation.  Though that could happen, I think that successful artists have worked years to become noticed and have definitely paid their dues.
2. “What advice would you give to someone wanting to enter the music industry?”
Get some help from people who are in the business and can help you avoid errors.  Don’t be afraid to ask for advice.  Put your ego aside.
3. “Are there any resources or even advice that have really helped you on your journey?”
Make sure your band mates have the same goals and level of commitment.  One person can derail months and years of effort.
4. “What has been your biggest accomplishment in your career thus far?”
For me, it’s been never giving up.
5. “What do you wish you had known when you started out?”
That a lot of people in the business have self interest at heart.
6. “What led you to becoming a singer-songwriter?”
I have always used music to channel times in my life that have been very challenging,    I have turned negative into positive.

7. “What do you think is your unique skill(s) that has helped you become successful?”

For me success means that you are happy, healthy, secure and motivated.  Every day I do something for my mind, my body, my relationships, and my finances.  Little things daily.  One pushup is better than zero pushups.  Writing one verse of lyrics is better than nothing.  Reading one page of a book is something I strive to do every day.

8. “How was your journey to what you do
Now?”  No regrets.  Looking at what you have rather than what you want has been important to me.  If I can make one person laugh, smile, or forget about life’s stresses through music, I feel that that is a win,

9. “How did this project begin?”  I relocated to the area and responded to a craigslist ad for a band seeking a vocalist.  True Love Devil had been together for quite some time.  Members have known each other since high school and never could find a singer that could write and fit in.  We are a brotherhood.
.
10. “What makes this project different from “past projects?”  The bond we have.  Sharing of ideals and goals,
.
11. “What’s the inspiration behind this project?”  Just to write music that can get people ROCKIN! and have some fun!

12. “What word or phrase would you use to describe this project?”  Bulletproof.  We have overcome many obstacles.  For example, our first foray into recording resulted in the recording studio we had chosen catch fire and burn to the ground.  Not only did we lose our deposit but were set back many months to recover and get funds to record again.

13. “How can listeners get in touch with or support you?”  Our website truelovedevil.com has links to our social sites.

14. “What is coming up for you in the near future?”  We will be releasing a 4th single “Solitude”.  We are also working on another music video.  We have a few shows coming up.  FibsFest July 22nd and Brauerhouse August 18th.
.
15. “Many people believe that becoming a musical artist is challenging to the point it
becomes overwhelming and too much to handle. Why do you think people believe that?”  Because bands fall apart easily due to lack of communication.  Just like any relationship, communication is key.  Being a musician is hard work.  Most people don’t see the challenges that a band faces.  They just see social media, videos, etc..

16. “What’s the most common reason for people failing or giving up?”  Unrealistic expectations.
.
17. “What is your favorite word?”  YES

18. “What are you not very good at?”   Sports.  I was a headbanger from the 6th grade!  Music was my sport!

19. “If you could have one superpower, what would it be?”  The ability to never need sleep.

20. “If you were a type of food, what type of food would you be?”  Pizza.  So many combinations, styles, crusts.

21. “If you could switch lives with someone for a day, who would you choose?”  I would switch lives with the high school me.
Thanks do much- Nick DiNardo, vocalist – TRUE LOVE DEVIL
