NEW ALBUM ‘RODEO’ OUT OCTOBER 04 – PRE-ORDER HERE

Once more with attitude: April Art have set out to do nothing less than change the world. That may seem bold, true, but you know what: They have the songs to back this attitude. It’s a modern metal sensation like no other, emerging from the underground and led by sparkling front-woman Lisa-Marie Watz. In, fact, April Art have risen so rapidly in recent years that it could make you feel dizzy just by watching them.

Now, however, the time has come for the big leap, for their breakthrough:
Their third album “Rodeo” will be released on October 4th via Reaper Entertainment, unapologetically changes into the fast lane, speeding away from everyone else with huge hits, a brutal bite and peerless power. Trigger warning: a German band hasn’t sounded this explosive, this hungry, this insatiable for a very long time.

Today, the band presents the fourth single “Not Afraid” from the upcoming album.
The official video clip for the song was shot in the band’s own rehearsal room and was once more produced by drummer Ben Juelg.

You can watch the clip at THIS location!

The band comments:
“Not Afraid is intended to encourage people to face their fears. We all have fears and often let them hold us back and prevent us from coming into our own. But it is worth looking fear in the eye, going through it and then emerging stronger and more self-confident than ever before. We only have this one precious life and it is worth fighting for it.”

What inspired you to write Not Afraid, and how does it
reflect your artistic vision as a band?

A lot of Songs that I write, are there for giving myself hope
and strength. When I’m going through hard times, I always
try to focus on the good things. So I’m writing, that’s
something I always can do.

Can you tell us about the creative process behind the music
video for Not Afraid?

How did you conceptualize and
execute the visuals?

For Not Afraid we didn’t had a big budget and also not
much time for shooting the Video. So we decided that we
make it on one evening in our rehearsal room. We put some
black fabric to the walls and try to make a cool mood with
lights and stuff. And then we just started filming. And as
most of our videos Ben was cutting and grading the video.

How do you think Not Afraid differs from previous singles,
and what can fans expect from your upcoming album
Rodeo?

Just like our previous single Rodeo, Not Afraid is driving a
bid harder than our songs on our last album Pokerface. With
our new album Rodeo, I think our fans can expect big
chorus lines and heavy riffs and pure energy.

You’ve mentioned wanting to change the world with your
music. What specific messages or themes do you hope to
convey through your lyrics in Rodeo?

There is so much envy and hatred in the world and we
focus far too much on what we don’t have instead of what
we do have. If we all learn to look more at our own needs
and understand that we are not victims of our lives, but that
we can take the reins into our own hands, then we follow
our hearts and not hate. So take care of yourself and follow
your dreams so that you can make the world a better place.

How has your sound evolved since your last release, and
what new elements can listeners expect from “Not Afraid
and the rest of Rodeo?

I would say that Rodeo is heavier than Pokerface and much
more rough. We used less electronic elements and the
songs are in a lower tune so they fit better to my voice. We
wanted to bring more of our live energy to the record.

As a band, how do you collaborate on songwriting and
arranging? What roles do each member play in crafting the
music?

The whole Band is in the writing process involved, we’re
always writing together.

How has the reception been to “Not Afraid” so far, and what
are your expectations for the single’s impact on fans and
new listeners alike?

Our fans like Not Afraid and they are looking forward to
seeing us play it live. We are really proud of our new album
and of course we hope our fans and new listeners love our
music as much as we do. We are really exited about how
fans will like our next single „Burn“.

You’ve signed with Reaper Entertainment for ‘Rodeo.’ Can
you share any insights into working with this label and how it
has influenced your creative process?

First of all, we want to say, that we are really grateful
about signing with Reaper. It was the right moment
for us to expand our team and reaper made it
possible to wrap it all up and get our music in the
stores all over the globe.
