For Fans Of: Mechina, Mick Gordon, Fear Factory
Prepare to step into the abyss. Voidmonger, the visionary audiovisual project fusing industrial metal, movement art, fireshow, and narrative storytelling, has officially released their first concept album, Lies of Aquarius . Available on all digital platforms and as a limited vinyl edition, the album is the opening chapter of a three-part saga exploring cosmic justice, human arrogance, and the dark machinations of the universe.
At the center of Voidmonger’s universe is the Juggernaut , a mobile, autonomous tower-stage of fire and steel. Through it, the Preacher—the enigmatic ambassador of the god-like Creator—delivers judgment on humanity’s failings. Accompanied by the Mechanic, the Executor, and the Slaves to the Void, the Preacher enforces the Creator’s sentence: a stark confrontation with the void of eternal emptiness for human hubris and moral transgression.
Lies of Aquarius sets the tone for this intergalactic mythos, combining the crushing power of industrial riffs with cinematic soundscapes and sci-fi storytelling. The album navigates themes of cosmic judgment, the consequences of exploiting faith for personal gain, and the eternal struggle between civilizations that evolve or collapse under the weight of their own sins.
“ Lies of Aquarius is more than music—it’s an experience. It’s the first step into the Voidmonger universe, where sound, story, and spectacle collide,” says Voidmonger’s creator.
Production Credits: Produced and mixed by Otus Hobst, mastered by Jan Zborovjan.
Fans of Mechina, Mick Gordon, and Fear Factory will find themselves at home in Voidmonger’s sonic and narrative depth—a relentless exploration of industrial metal pushed to its most cinematic extremes.

VOIDMONGER – “LIES OF AQUARIUS” WRITTEN INTERVIEW QUESTIONS
ORIGINS & VISION
Voidmonger feels bigger than a band—it’s an entire universe. What was the moment where this project evolved from music into a full audiovisual mythology?
First let me say hi you and all the readers! To answer your question: Evolution from pure music evolved in the moment I quit my former band (Minority Sound) after 13 years. I wanted to create something never did before. This is hard to achieve only through music. But the idea to build our own stage came during playing Elden Ring. There are these Abductor Maiden creatures. Basically a big iron maiden on wheels. I thought it would be cool if there was a guitar player inside the maiden that would drive around playing industrial metal. But a month later an idea that we should build a big Juggernaut, No screwing around. Big thing that would serve as an autonomous stage. I had more than enough handy people around me who helped me made my vision a reality.
And hand in hand with this came the idea for the mythos. It was evolving as we were planning the construction. I basically threw in some basic ideas and we were shaping them together as the project progressed.
The concept behind Lies of Aquarius is incredibly cinematic. Were you building the story first, or did the music come first and the narrative followed?
Part of the music came first (as it was supposed to be on Minority Sound’s next album). But some of the tracks were not fit for our approach and as we progressed with the story other tracks were coming along. Some lyrics were written for already composed music and some music was written for the narrative. So this was a two-way approach.
Who or what inspired the creation of the Preacher and the larger Voidmonger mythos?
I guess there is no real inspiration but the Juggernaut itself. We needed a main character. A big character that would be on top of a 5m high construction that would rule everything. And ominous and mighty being that would command respect. What is better than a god-like being that judges whole civilizations?
THE JUGGERNAUT & LIVE EXPERIENCE
The Juggernaut stage concept is one of the most unique elements of your project. How did that idea come together, and what does it symbolize within the Voidmonger universe?
I think I gave this partly out already in the first answer. But the symbolic here is that Juggernaut is basically Preacher’s machine with which he travels through the universe. It was constructed for The Preacher by The Mechanic – right hand of The Preacher who does all the dirty work for him.
You incorporate fire, movement art, and performance into your shows—how important is the live spectacle to fully understanding Voidmonger?
I think the live spectacle is mostly about the spectacle! Though nothing is self-serving in the show it is hard to convey all the ideas through metal music (with growling and very abstract lyrics) and movement art which is also very abstract. We are still polishing the show to make it more readable even for people who did not read the lore and don’t know any details about the universe we created. So still it is better to ready the lore and lyrics to understand what’s going on than watching the show. But as I mentioned: We are working on that! 🙂
For someone seeing Voidmonger live for the first time, what should they expect emotionally and visually?
Something you have never seen before! Voidmonger show is totally unique and you are probably not gonna see anything like that anytime soon!
“LIES OF AQUARIUS” – THEMES & STORY
Lies of Aquarius explores cosmic judgment and human arrogance—what message were you most driven to communicate through this first chapter?
You can actually see it all around. It is somewhat coded into living being. Only people are capable of self-reflection though. Not a lot of us do that though. I guess that in general people could be more decent, less avaricious.
Don’t hide behind your faith to wash away your sins. That’s not a real faith. That’s just cowardly. Take responsibility for your own actions! We all fuck up from time to time. But the biggest difference is how we approach it afterwards. Try to learn from your mistakes instead of discarding them.
The idea of the Creator judging humanity is powerful—do you see this as a reflection of modern society, or something more timeless
I guess it’s more apparent now but pride and false faith is something people have been holding onto for as long as humanity exists.
How does Lies of Aquarius set the stage for the rest of the trilogy? Are there clues or hidden layers fans should be paying attention to
Oh there are clues of what’s gonna happen next! Lies of Aquarius basically just introduced the universe with the more personal aspect of human trial but this saga is gonna continue and the clues what’s gonna happen are already there.
The title itself—Lies of Aquarius—feels symbolic. What does “Aquarius” represent in the Voidmonger universe?
The Age of Aquarius is an astrological era believed by many to represent a shift toward collective consciousness, technological advancement, community, and humanitarianism. We have technological advancements that are actively breaking collective consciousness, community and humanitarianism. And many claim that we already live in this “human” era. In the light of events in the past few years it seems like we are getting further away from such ideals with one exception.
SOUND & PRODUCTION
Your sound blends industrial metal with cinematic scoring. How did you approach balancing heaviness with atmosphere?
That just came naturally! I mean we were aiming for a sound that’s heavy yet with dense futuristic atmosphere. Of course the mixing got more complicated here and there to blend in all the necessary elements (we still have some work to do in this area) but other than that the production went smoothly, carefully adding the industrial and cinematic elements on top of down-tuned guitars and industrial drums.
You’ve drawn comparisons to bands like Mechina and Fear Factory, as well as composers like Mick Gordon—how do those influences show up in your work?
I think that Mick Gordon and his work on DOOM OST has inspired our sound the most. It is a perfect blend of heavy guitars and gritty industrial atmosphere. Mechina can masterfully blend in the cinematic elements and Fear Factory is a goddamn legend! Dino Cazares’s right hand tightness crushes hard even after all these years!
What was it like working with Otus Hobst on production and Jan Zborovjan on mastering? How did they help shape the final sound?
Ah…Otus here answering all your questions so Iam not so sure how to answer how it was working with me. I will ask the others (LOL). But creative sessions on vocals were just so inspiring, productive and fun! I shaped the sound to sound like a rustier, dirtier version of the DOOM soundtrack with expressive vocals! Jan Zborovjan took on the mastering duties and it was pleasure to work with him! Especially the sound on vinyl version is soooo good!
CHARACTERS & WORLD-BUILDING
The Preacher, Mechanic, Executor, and Slaves to the Void all feel like pieces of a larger machine—can you break down each character’s role?
On top everything is The Void – The only God. The Creator of everything, architect of The Big Bang. And Creator sends his envoy to judge all evolved civilisations if they are worthy of existence. The Mechanic is The Preacher’s right hand. He constructed the Juggernaut for him. Executor is an artificial being built by The Mechanic after battles of Helastyr (the Drahmir world). Slaves of the Void partially come from partially the primary void and they are partially harvested from the judged civilizations.

Is the Voidmonger universe meant to be interpreted literally, or is it more of an allegory for human behavior and societal collapse?
It definitely should be interpreted allegorically. It is a story! It is not a religion or a cult (as some pointed out). It is just a sci-fi story with some moral “lesson”. And I put the quotation marks there on purpose. Enjoy the story. Make your own stories based on this just don’t take it too literally!
Are there plans to expand this story beyond music—film, comics, or other visual mediums?
Yes there are! For example a table-top game! That has been already consulted. Iam not sure in what state it is now though. And we would love to see the story expanded to other media! We will see what future brings.
CREATIVE PROCESS
When creating a project this layered, where do you start—music, visuals, or narrative structure?
We start with a vision. Last year we introduced our new show “Helastyr”. First of all we decided what we want to do with it. What should it convey and how would we approach it. I usually start throwing musical ideas around and occasionally something sticks. Together with that I keep close with the choreographer and listen to his ideas. We consult them together and they do have influence on the final track. When the music is ready the rehearsals start. And there other ideas and possibilities are thrown in. So as you is a process and everything goes hand in hand together to create the final result.
How long did it take to bring Lies of Aquarius from concept to completion?
I would say about 2 years musically but it was a very laid-back approach. But the overall concept together with the structure and choreography? Thats gonna be 4 years this fall and we are still polishing lots of stuff!
Did any part of the album evolve or change drastically from your original vision?
Musically not much. The overall concept went through major evolution though! Countless hours, days, weeks and months in it! And as every good idea it needed evolution. FE the concept of “Happiness” in the show was very different from what it became. And it was a change for better!
FUTURE & TRILOGY\
You’ve described this as the first part of a three-album saga—how far along are you in the next chapters?
Actually we will be serving the second chapter (we call it “Voidmonger Universe”) not as an album but as series of singles and EPs as this format will be more useful for all the ideas we have. As this second chapter should be about all the civilizations The Preacher judges and one final tide-turning event we could not fit it in one album as it would either be too long or we wouldn’t fit all the necessary information in there. First single is already out (its called Helastyr – a 21 minutes long opus). Check it out!
Will the tone or perspective shift in future releases, or are we continuing deeper into the same abyss?
We are gonna continue with what we started. We already know how the whole saga should end and we will be working towards that goal. The music and the show will shift accordingly to the events. How? Well that’s gonna be a surprise as we have many ideas and possibilities where to go. But the sound we have established should be always counted with!
What is the ultimate endgame of the Voidmonger story—redemption, destruction, or something else entirely?
Something else entirely. But I cannot tell you what it is now! The ending is clear we just need to polish the edges! 🙂
FAN CONNECTION & FINAL THOUGHTS
What do you hope listeners feel the first time they experience Lies of Aquarius from start to finish?
A cosmic journey with dense atmosphere, expressive vocals, cinematic atmosphere and a few surprises in industrial manner! We have designed the album so that it is a complete listening experience. The tracks don’t work with all their might individually compared when you give the whole album a spin!
For fans just discovering Voidmonger, what’s the best way to dive into this universe?
