Emerging country singer/songwriter Aaron McDonnell and his band The Neon Eagles
is set to release a batch of new recordings from recent sessions at Sargent Sounds
Studios in Driftwood, Texas. The third single from these sessions, Tell the Devil will be
available on all digital platforms including Spotify, and Apple Music on January 29th.
Engineered by Will Sargent, the series features all original music written by Aaron
McDonnell, and is produced by the band. The songs have been performed live and
“road tested” all over Texas honky-tonks over the past two years. They were also well
received in Aaron’s recent acoustic tour of Ireland and the UK.
For this session, McDonnell brought in his live band mates including stellar vocalist Dani
McDonnell; Matt Gracy (guitar); Morgan Patrick Thompson (bass); Simon Page
(pedal steel) and Bryan McGrath (drums).
Over the past five years, McDonnell has been a constant fixture around the Texas music
scene. The Austin American Statesman was quoted as saying “In the crowded Texas
country field, McDonnell stands out as one of the most natural talents to rise out
of Austin in years.” Most recently, he released his sublime EP ‘Lucky Me’ which came
out to critical accolades and great radio success breaking in to the top 40 on both the
Texas Regional Radio Report (TRRR) and CDX TRACtion Texas Chart.
McDonnell will be out on the road this year (as Covid-19 restrictions allow) touring in and
