Ashley Keene is a rock in her community, there for folks when they need it and here to pump up the jams in boom times! ‘Go Down Easy’ is her latest single released on February 12th. This song is emblematic of everything the LA-based artist intends to deliver with her music: stadium rock anthems that emphasize independence and self-discovery.

‘Go Down Easy’ is inspired by Aretha Franklin, a popular Los Angeles bar Harvard & Stone, and betrayal. On this fateful night, she had brought a few friends to watch her perform and generally have a nice night out. But when she left the stage after her set, she caught sight of the person she was dating, who showed up unannounced—and was kissing another girl. When Keene eventually made it home, she channeled Aretha Franklin for the strength to process such a betrayal as the words to her forthcoming single began to spill out of her. She focuses not on the pain that she felt that night but rather the opportunity to boost her own self-worth, no longer tethered to the relationship nor any expectations that may have come with it. This song is for anyone who has been in a bad or abusive relationship- to rise up and find the strength to take responsibility for our own happiness. And in doing so, becoming a higher version of ourselves.

Ashley spent many years performing in NYC before making her way to the west coast. She started in the LA music scene by singing backup vocals for rock band Harry Katz & the Pistachios who she headlined a sold-out show at The Troubadour with before venturing out as a solo artist. That same year, she played Hotel Cafe for the first time and sold it out. ‘We Come Alive’ (2020) was her second release- produced/ co-written by Grammy nominated producer/ songwriter Rob Kleiner, who has credits such as Sia’s ‘Elastic Heart’, David Guetta’s ‘Titanium’, and Flo Rida’s ‘Wild Ones’.

You don’t need to be a woman to feel the spirit of Keene’s music. With no shortage of heel-stomping moments, her debut single ‘Bad Bitch’ released in 2019, propelled Keene to where she is now, writing stories based on her own life to connect and empower those who might be feeling the same.
